What Is Mold

Molds are the microscopic organism with thousands of species found virtually everywhere, indoors and outdoors. They are a common type of fungus, which is a major part of the natural environment, by breaking down dead organic matter such as fallen leaves and trees.

Mold reproduces by means of tiny spores which are invisible to the naked eye and float through the air. It may begin to grow indoors when mold spores land on surfaces that are wet. There are many types of mold, and none of them will grow without water or moisture. Mold can grow in a moist environment combined with proper temperatures and an organic food source in just 24-48 hours.

Mold is commonly known and is referred to as “black mold” or “toxic black” due to its colour. However, black mold or toxic black mold refers to a specific type of mold called "Stachybotrys". This type of mold should not be found anywhere in a living environment.

Furthermore, mold can appear in various colours and not solely black.
